Duodenal Switch is a wonderful weight loss surgery option for those with a BMI >40 or >35 with comorbidities. It combines both restriction and malabsorption for maximum weight loss and long term success. This meeting is for anyone who is interested in learning more about Duodenal Switch or would like to support others who are interested. Some of us are pre-ops and some of us are long term post-ops. We also have members who have had other surgeries but are still interested in learning about DS and in WLS support.
Every other month we have a speaker, usually Dr. John Rabkin from Pacific Laparoscopy in San Francisco, who gives a presentation on WLS in general and DS in particular. Dr. Rabkin is very approachable and willing to answer questions.
When Dr. Rabkin is not here our meetings are more casual but still focus on group support.
